RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage Company’s overall sourcing strategy.
- Responsible To study and understand Company’s operations, needs and requirements.
- Build relationships with vendors and key suppliers.
- Hard negotiation skills to set best price for the components during the design phase and Negotiate pricing with cost controls.
- Execute analyses and make suggestions for improvement of overall sourcing strategy.
- Write sourcing documentation and statements.
- Keep abreast with industry and market trends and best practices.
- Adhere to all relevant guidelines and regulations.
- Develop and implement co-ordination among teams to focus on effective daily communication.
- Work closely with the design team to understand schematic/layout/BOM design files with revision controls.
- Capable of identifying component details such as MPN, date code, component packages, etc.
- Knowledge of electronic components- passives (resistor, capacitor, inductors etc.), actives (IC, diodes, modules etc.) functionality and packages.
- Capable of reviewing schematic, BOM, layout files in terms of correctness of the document.
- Knowledge on procurement activities electronic, mechanical, wiring harness components.
- Capable of identifying new vendors/component manufacturers to onboard as per organizational requirements.
- Capable of identifying equivalent components from different component manufacturers to provide flexibility in manufacturing.
- Should work continuously to ensure cost reduction of the product being manufactured.
- Capable of identifying the new components (equivalents) process for components samples and co-ordinate with design team for approval process.
- Regularly monitor BOM cost and ensure continuous improvement plans for achieving optimized production cost.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2+ years of experience in sourcing.
- Should have a Bachelors Degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering or Diploma in ECE.
- Should demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Understanding of market dynamics and sound sourcing judgement.
